I am so excited.
Kevin, Sophia and I are finally moving into our own place!!!
We have been living with Kevin's parents for the last two years so we could get started with school, find good jobs, etc.
It has been fun, but it is really REALLY time for us to move on.
We found a cute apartment in Ogden that is close to Weber State. My old Young Women's leader will be our landlord, and while we may not be bff's with the neighbors, they aren't crackheads.
I wish I had a picture of the place that I could post, but once we move in I will have to put something up.

Three Day Weekend!

Kevin and I had a 3 day weekend for the 24th of July, so we tried to take full advantage of our last hurrah before we have to go back to school.
We stayed with Brian and Julie, Kevin's brother and sister-in-law), in Toquerville. For those of you who don't know, Toquerville is a quaint little town 30 minutes away from Zion's National Park.
The weekend was great, we experienced some inclement weather during one of our hikes, but it added to the fun. I didn't get any pictures from the park because the camera would not have survived the rain.

SUMMER

I have done it again. Waited too long between posts. We have had a VERY busy Summer. It has been really nice to spend so much time with each other, and take a break from life. I feel very lucky because there are a lot of people who don't get to spend as much time with their loved ones.
Sophia has changed so much in the past few months. She is tan and blonde, so she looks like a beautiful summer baby. Her language and vocabulary are out of control. She is fully potty trained, has 6 books memorized, and has a better memory than most adults. I take full credit for her amazingness.
We have been to Lagoon twice, Zion's National Park, the Symphony, fireworks, the farmers market, and we go swimming pretty much every day.
This really is my favorite time of year, and I am sad that it will be coming to an end.

Celebrating New Life

I found a children's book at the Library that was about the origins of Easter. It was so nice and refreshing to see something about a Holiday that didn't focus on religion or presents.
I didn't realize that the tradition of coloring eggs comes from the celebration of life, women, and their eggs. Kevin and I aren't religious, and we want Sophia to be openminded, so I really loved that this book was celebrating all forms of life from many perspectives.

Easter

Sophia and I colored eggs together for Easter. She was very good at it! She would gently place the eggs in the cup, and we didn't even make a mess. It was amazing.
This has been one our funnest holidays together. She is old enough that she gets excited and can participate. Today we hid some eggs in the yard for her to find, and then she found her toys that the Easter Bunny brought her. I will post some pictures of that tomorrow.
We were going to have brunch with my family, but Grandma Melanie is sick :( , so we will be doing dinner with The Fendricks. Hope you all enjoy the Easter Holiday with your loved ones.

Here are a few recent photos. Please note that I am not wearing makeup in some of them, and had rolled out of bed recently.
Kevin's parents joined "Bountiful Baskets", which supplies them with fruit, veggies, bread, tortillas, and sometimes easter cookies with frosting. We had fun decorating them, and Sophia and Kevin had fun eating them.
Sophia loves to paint. She has four paintings in her bedroom that she has named "forty eight" and "sophia lynn fendrick"... She wanted to paint a few days ago, but we were out of canvases, so she decided to paint her feet and moved upward. It was really funny to see her explore her body with a paintbrush.

Discovery Gateway...

Today was great.
We met up with Cody, Audrey, and Wyatt in Salt Lake, and took the kiddos to Discovery Gateway, which is amazing! I wish we lived closer, because I would take Sophia there all the time. The membership cost is a little too pricey for me because I don't make it to Salt Lake very often.
Sophia and Wyatt had a great time, and were pretty exhausted by the time we left. We dined at "Z Tejas", meh... then topped it all of with a stop at the "Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory". Here are a ton of pictures for your viewing pleasure.

It has been quite some time since my last post!
Life can be kind of crazy for us. Kevin is going to school full time, I am working at the library part time and going to school part time. Sophia is two....
All three of us are really looking forward to having some warmer weather and getting out of the house!
Today was pretty nice. We started it out by having breakfast with Crystal and Lace at Jeremiah's. This usually requires some form of exercise, so we headed to Mount Ogden park. The golf course, that they should close and use the land to expand the park, was not open so went on an adventure. This meant rolling down hills, walking barefoot on the putting greens, sliding down snow covered hills in sandals and ballet flats, etc. It was great!! We all needed the fresh air.
I took one picture with my camera phone, that didn't even work out. So instead please enjoy some photos from the last few months, and look forward to more posts from us. Adieu!

Conquer Thyself

Kevin, my amazing husband, participated in his first race today. He finished the "BairGutsman" in 3 hours and 35 minutes! For those of you who are not familiar with this race, allow me to enlighten you.
You start out in Fruit Heights, run to the Bair Trail which takes you to the radar towers up Farmington Canyon. You pretty much go uphill the whole way. I think it is something like 5,000 feet, and then run back down the other side. Crazy!!
I am so proud of Kevin! Most of us think of doing stuff like this, but we never do. He found about it online, signed up, and finished with a really great time. I wish I could do stuff like this, but I just don't have the motivation. I prefer swimming and yoga. Here is a picture of the radar towers at the top of the mountain. Im sure you have seen them on the to Salt Lake City.

We had a lovely week! Kevin turned 28! He is sooo old. I forgot to take my camera, of course, but we went down to Salt Lake for the day. We had some Japanese food for lunch, did a little shopping, had some oreo caramel apples from RMCF and some icey beverages, and just relaxed. It was very nice.
Kevin is doing the "BairGutsman" race this weekend. It is his first race, so I am a little nervous. He is excited though.

Im going to be honest here. I was sorely disappointed by the Arts Festival. It wasn't awful or anything, but I kept on hearing how amazing it is. Not so, in my opinion. It was nice to get out in the community, but I probably won't make it a point to go again. Also, I forgot to take any pictures. Sorry! Kevin and I did get out for a nice hike today. We went to Lewis Peak up in North Ogden, and then to Boccia's for dinner to make up for all of the calories we burned on the hike.

Well, since I haven't posted anything since January, I thought it was time. A lot of things have happened since then. Kevin finished the Spring semester and is now halfway through the summer. I started a new job at the Library. I love it there. Sophia has grown up A LOT. She is saying a lot of different words these days. Kevin and had a romantic little getaway to southern Utah. We went to Zion National Park, but came home a little early because my dad was in the hospital up in Alaska with some pretty serious issues. Things were very scary for a few days, but all is well now. He is home and healing. Megan and Brady moved to Chicago. Lame. We will be seeing them in a week. I am so excited to see Megan all Prego. I really just can't wait for the baby, and to visit them in Chicago. Ill try to post some pictures, and post a little more frequently. Tonight Sophia and I are going to see the Buddhist Taiko Drummers. Tomorrow we will venture to the Art's Festival in SLC, and Saturday hopefully swimming and Treehouse. We live a wild life, in case you couldn't tell. Enjoy!

Our life has been a little hectic lately. I made the mistake of thinking that after the wedding things would slow down. ha. I have a new job at a little coffee shop in South Ogden. www.beanacolada.com . I love it there. We are opening a second shop this spring at the new Library, so I am hoping to get my foot in the door there. Anything to make me closer to my dream of being a Librarian. We are now getting ready for Thanksgiving, Kevin's Grandma's wedding, and Sophia's first birthday. Oh, and let's not forget Christmas. Thanksgiving will be a little weird for me this year. I recently gave up eating meat, so I will be experimenting with "tofurky" and other tasty dishes. Being a vegetarian is much easier than I thought it would be!!! I really don't miss meat at all. Not even when I smell McDonald's wafting through some random parking lot.... I feel like I have so much more energy, I have lost weight, and my skin is pretty amazing right now. Plus, Veggie food is good! It is so easy to give up meat these days, there are so many options. I love the veggie sausage replacers, and black bean burgers. If you give up eating meat, you can save the lives of 100 animals a year!!! Think about it, eating meat is mean. Im sorry, but that is the truth. Anyway, enough of my rant. Sophia is almost one year old. I cannot believe it. She is running all over the place these days. I love seeing her grow up, but I do miss the cuddly baby days. Not enough to have another bambino though. OH I thought I would throw in a few more wedding photos. Hardison Peek, our photographers, did an amazing job with these. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I am pretty much the worst blogger ever. Sorry. Kevin and I got married on October Third. The entire day was perfect, I loved every minute of it. I am sooo lucky to have Kevin for a husband. He is the most amazing man. I know everyone says that, but I mean it. I only have two blurry pictures to post right now, but I will put some more up when we get the rest of them. :)

Washington Lake

This weekend was my family's annual camp out reunion get together. We usually go to a campground near Mt. Timpanogas, but this year we were in need of something new. Washington Lake is in the Uintah mountains, and it is beautiful. Normally we stay for three days, but Kevin and I are kind of lame and didn't really feel lake sleeping in a tent with Sophia for that long. We headed up there early this morning, and spent a marvelous day in the great outdoors. I was amazing and remembered to take my camera, but of course, it died before I could capture the best moments from the day. The following pictures are from the Provo Falls. It was a pretty neat-o little spot. We let Sophia play in the water, and Kevin and I tried unsuccessfully to brave the falls and cross the river.
After we got back from the falls, Kevin and I went out on Washington Lake in some Kayaks. It was exhilarating. I love love love the mountains. It was so nice to sit out on the middle of this beautiful lake, and just listen to the silence. We were the only people out there. The water was like black glass, it was really peaceful and amazing. Much needed. Anyway, that is all for now. :)

Earlier today a woman tried to rob the South Ogden Albertson's pharmacy. Oh.. hey... that is where I work! Apparently this woman went up the the Pharmacist and handed her a note stating that she wanted all the pain killers, or else! The Pharmacist said "No.." and the woman pulled out a gun and pointed it at her. She then proceeded to say some crazy stuff and left. Three hours later a woman matching the description tried to do the same thing at a pharmacy in Evanston.
I am pretty sure that I saw this lady come into the store the other day when I was working. She was mumbling to herself and kept walking by the ATM. We asked her if she needed help and she shouted some gibberish at us. I am soo glad that I just make the coffee and I don't have to handle any of the hardcore addictive substances.
If it was me I would have given the lady her pills. I like my life. I would have just given her some viagra and told her it was a new super hardcore painkiller or something. Although, I think that would have REALLY made her mad. I do think it is funny that the pharmacist said no. This kind of stuff happens all the time, and she is probably sick of these people coming in and taking her stuff. Can you blame her? I guess the moral of the story is JUST SAY NO. Say NO to drugs, NO to violence, and NO to robbers.

Park City

We all decided we that we needed to have a mini vacation. Luckily, my Aunt and Uncle own a house in Park City. It is up at the top of main street, so it is very convenient. Right when we got there I knew exactly what we had to do... visit the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I freaking love their caramel apples. So, we headed down Main in search of coffee and chocolate. We stopped by the "Java Cow" for some ice cold refreshment. It was alright... not the best coffee I have ever had, and definitely not worth $9 for two lattes. They did have a pretty sweet food selection though, if you want to spend $7.25 for half a sandwich. We left the Java Cow for some caramel apple lovin'. I had the Oreo... which is a green apple, dipped in caramel, dipped in white chocolate, dipped in Oreo crumbs. Ahhhh... it is so good. We walked around for a little while after this and decided to head up the 4 flights of stairs on the mountain back to the house. It was actually a great idea because it gave us a mini workout after the sugar overload.
After we unpacked our stuff and fed Sophia we headed down to Baja Cantina for some mexican eats. Later, we had a brilliant idea. Their is a pool at the Marriot Hotel that is really nice, and Megan and Brady always sneak in. We decided to give it a try. So we get out of the car, sneak in through the parking garage, and take the elevator up to the pool. We were in the water for about 6 minutes before some guy came and asked Kevin and Brady what room we were in. He said "the gentleman over there wanted me to make sure you were guests." WTF. This dude wasn't even swimming. He was just standing there starting at people like pervert. Needless to say, we left. It was a fun little adventure though...
The next day we walked down to Main Street again and went to the "Park Silly Days" street vendor market thing. It was weird and very expensive. My parents bought Sophia cute little beanie (see below). We missed out on the belly dancers with swords because we got there too early, but we did get to see half naked guy play his didgeridoo. It was bad. We were starving so we went to the deli for some sustenance, and then walked back up main street to once again brave the stairs. The first time it was fun, this time with a baby who weighs almost 20 pounds, daiper bag, and stroller. Not so much.
After we recoueperated it was time for the outlet malls. I used to love going up to Park City for some outlet mall shopping, but I have to say now it's more like an overly crowded strip mall that is more expensive than the one down the street from my house. Some store still have really good deals if you are willing to fight the crowds and search the racks. Usually I would be all about this, but Sophia was not. So, after a few purchases and a visit with Crystal, we left.
The rest of the trip was pretty much spent relaxing, eating, and other random activities. It was a great little weekend, and very much needed. Here are a few pictures. I always forget to take my camera for the good stuff, but my mom has some better ones so I will post them later.

We have been going swimming at Kevin's parent's condo lately, and it is pretty flippin' sweet. Little loaf really really likes being in the water. It is crazy to see her kick her little legs, like she knows exactly what to do. I guess it's because she kicked me all day long when she was in my belly.

I have calmed down since my little rant last night. I thought about deleting that post, but that sort of defeats the purpose. I did not mean to come across in an angry way. I was just a little upset and needed to vent. I am working on being a more calm person. Whenever I get stressed or upset Kevin just looks at me and says "Om". So I try to go to my happy place and relax. Probably should have done that last night, but whatevs. Anyway....
My parentals bought a swing for the backyard that the grandkiddies can play in. Little JuJubee loves it. I think it tickles her tummy. I used to love that feeling when I was little. Actually, I think I still do.

Today Kevin and I went out to Tuscany and picked our invitations, flowers, cake, etc. It was fun! It made the wedding seem a little more real to us....I am so excited. We are pretty much having a fall themed wedding. I would have everyone dress up and carve pumpkins, but I think that may be a little too over the top.
Oh, I am trying to find a few good summer reads. I have about 5 new books I would like to read, but none of them seem to the trick. I just can't get into them. My all time favorite summer book is "Summer Sisters" by Judy Blume. I read it every summer, and it still gets me. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know, and please do not suggest any of the twilight books. blah. Thanks.

We have been super busy lately. Planning the wedding, working, hanging out with Sophia, family functions. You know...
So the wedding plans are coming along marvelously. Less than 3 months! It is crazy. I picked out my dress, but it wont be here until the end of August. Sad... We still have a lot of stuff to do though, and it is kind of stressing me out. Anyway, Sophia is 7 months old now. I can't believe it. She has pretty much mastered crawling backwards, now she is working on moving forward. She is so funny. We took her to the Clearfield fireworks on the 4th of July. She was actually really into them for a few minutes, but then the smoke started to bug her so we had to wrap her in a blanket and snuggle. She just zoned out. It was kind of weird to see, and when we got her home she didn't want to do any bedtime stuff. She just curled up to her tiger and passed out.
My dad is home right now, so we have tons of family stuff planned for this month. Next weekend my parents will be staying up in Park City so we are all going to try to go up for a few days. The weekend after that is our annual family camp out. We are going to Washington Lake this year. Should be fun camping with Sophia for the first time. That weekend is also Kevin's birthday. Kevin's family members have lots of birthdays in July. This means "Julymas" is coming up. We all go out to eat at Rodizio's and make ourselves sick. Its awesome. I will try to remember to take my camera to these events, but I can't make any promises.

Summertime

I seriously love summer so much. I would have to say the reason I love it so much is because of the smells. Fresh cut grass, sunscreen, swamp coolers, barbecues. I love how warm it is when you wake up in the morning and when you go to bed at night. It's glorious.
Kevin had to work today, so the little loaf and I went up to my Mom's house for some sunnin'. My Mom bought Sophia a little wading pool, so we tried it out today. It was pretty flippin' sweet. Sophia played in it for about an hour just splashing around. She wore her cute little lady bug swimming suit that her Great Grandma gave her. I know that everyone thinks they have the cutest kids, but seriously, Sophia is adorable. I love her so much.

Sorry for the lack of postage. We have not had the internet for a week or so. The people we were stealing it from stopped paying their bill. ha ha. The past few weeks have been pretty crazy. We had graduation parties, birthday parties, trips to the park, etc. Of course, I forgot to take the camera to most of them. I do have a few recent pictures though.
Here is sophia in her pretty little dress on her half birthday. I cannot believe that she is already 6 months old. Time flies when you have kiddos.

Sophia got a new chair and she loves it. We have started giving her little tastes of solid food. So far she likes carrots, apples, grapes, and she tolerates rice cereal.

Sophia's Great Grandma gave her a HUGE stuffed tiger. You can't tell from the pictures, but this thing looks so real. Every time Kevin and I walk into the bedroom we jump. I scared Kevin the other night by telling him there was a funny noise coming from the bedroom. He walked in, turned on the light, and the tiger was sitting on the bed. He jumped and let out a "oh my gosh". It was hilarious. I laughed for about 15 minutes. He is still pretty sensitive about the whole thing. Anyway, Sophia can sit up on her own now, and she likes to "ride" her tiger.

22 Candles

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday! Normally I get all excited for my birthdays, and start a countdown a few months before the actual day. This year I wasn't really excited. It was weird. I still had a great birthday though. Kevin and I don't get many days off together, so it was nice to relax with him. We went out to breakfast at Jeremiah's. Twas delicious, but there was this demon child screaming while we were waiting. At first I was scared because I don't want Sophia to be a little brat, but then I watched this little girl's parents spoil her and feed her candy to calm her down. Pretty sure Kevin and I don't have anything to worry about. After breakfast we went home and relaxed, then we took Sophia up to my parent's house. Kevin and I went and spent some of my birthday money and then we went out to dinner. It was a fantastic day. Even though I was not super excited, this was the best birthday I have ever had. I am so lucky to have Kevin and Sophia.
Today we celebrated a little more by going out to dinner with our friends Angela and Andy. Two of the craziest people I know. We all went to Rooster's. It was delicious and we enjoyed spending time with our friends. I love them so much. Again I am so blessed to have people like that in my life who are always there for me. I didn't take any picture from my actual birthday, but here are a few from Rooster's.

After Sophia took a three hour nap this afternoon (so nice) we decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather. We stopped by Villa Bella to get a decaf latte. The new kid who works there had the hardest time figuring out my drink. Vanilla latte, soy milk, decaf. Is it really that difficult? No. I make coffee for a living. I almost asked him if I could just make it. Anyway, I drank my latte, which was not that good, and I start to feel all crazy. Keep in mind I have not had large quantities of caffeine for over 6 months. I was freaking out! My hands were all shaky, and I was dizzy. I can't believe I used to choose to feel that way. I took a few crazy pictures of the fam and then we went out for a walk to burn off some energy. We walked around the east bench of ogden. I love it up there. When Kevin and I decide to buy a house, that is where we are going to live. I can't wait.

a couple of weeks ago Megan, Chelsea, and I went to the Ogden Parkway. It was a lot of fun to spend time together. The three of us are a lot closer than we used to be. It was a pretty warm day so we decided to let Sophia dip her feet in the river. She wasn't too into it. Maybe next time.

Tum Tum Cha Roo Roo

Sophia has been practicing what some people call "tummy time". She hates it. Kevin and I refer to it with a more affectionate name. "Tum Tum Cha Roo Roo time". It really doesn't make her hate it any less, but whatever. We are so weird. We are always coming up with things like this, or we catch ourselves adding "pants" and "ee" to the ends of things. Like, "sophia is being a cranky pants" or "can you hand me my pursee?". It is really annoying, especially when you catch yourself doing it in public.

Sophia has this doll from the book "Where the Wild Things Are". I love it because the characters from the book covered the walls of my elementary school library. Mrs. Torgerson was the best librarian ever!! I always loved sitting in the alcove and having story time in the middle of the day.

For those of you who don't know, Bikram yoga is the HOT yoga. Lisa, Chelsea, and I all went to Peddlers last night to try it out for the first time. The room is heated to 105 degrees, with anywhere from 40 to 80% humidity. I had heard how intense it was, but actually experiencing it is amazing. I have never sweated that much in my life. Literally. I had sweat pouring off of my face. I loved it I have never felt that strong before. I was in love with myself after walking out of the studio. I felt amazing. I had so much positive energy flowing through me, and my body felt relaxed. I would suggest that everyone try this class. Not only is it fun, but it is a workout for every system in your body. Your mind just clears, and you can relax and get rid off stress. The classes are a little pricy, but totally worth it. Here are some tips if you decide to go. Wear shorts and a tank top or sports bra. whichever you feel more comfortable in. Take a large bath or beach towel with you. Take COLD water. Trust me, when you are sweating your face off, you wont want that 105 degree bottle of water. Sit by the door the first few times. its not as hot over there.

I finally broke down, and decided to create a blog for our freaking cute little family. I don't even know where to start. The last year of my life was amazing. So much ha

s changed recently, but its all beautiful. I love my life. I have been so blessed. I have a little girl named Sophia Lynn Fendrick. She will be 5 months old in one week. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. My man Kevin recently proposed to me!! yay! We are getting married on October 3rd, 2008. I can't wait.

I love Kevin so much. I am going to post a bunch of pictures from the past few months, so everyone can see what we have been up to. Enjoy!
